Contract specifications differ by broker
Tick value, contract size and margin for gold vary between brokers. A lot size copied from a signal post can represent a very different risk on your account than on the sender's.
Volatility and spread behaviour
Gold can move rapidly around policy announcements, and spreads widen when it does. Stops sized for a major currency pair are frequently too tight for the same nominal risk in gold.
